RECTOR SEARCH PRAYER

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: look graciously on each of us in your beloved Church, and so guide the hearts and minds of those who shall choose a Rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

RECTOR SEARCH UPDATES

January 25, 2023 Update: What characteristics do you value most in a Rector? Why do you attend the worship service at Holy Trinity that you attend? These are just two of the questions the Search Committee might ask in the Focus Groups we have scheduled in February. The thoughts and ideas of all parishioners at Holy Trinity are valuable to the search and discernment process. Are you willing to participate? The Focus Groups currently scheduled are on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 8:30am in the Parish Hall and at 10:30am and on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 10:30am. Depending on the response, we will conduct up to three (3) groups at 10:30am. Each group will be approximately an hour in length and limited to 8 people to give everyone the opportunity to be heard. Additional groups will be scheduled as needed. You may sign up in the narthex beginning this weekend, January 28/29. Signup sheets will also be in the church office. As always, we welcome your prayers as we seek the mind of Christ in our search.

January 20, 2023 Update: Your Search Committee will be hosting a series of focus groups during the month of February.  They will be scheduled on a variety of days and times in hopes that everyone will find a convenient time to participate. Sign up for the focus groups will begin at the end of January and each group will be limited to 10 people so that everyone has the opportunity to be heard. We are very grateful for your support and prayers as we seek God’s will for Holy Trinity.

December 23, 2022 Update: Many thanks to all who completed the Parish Survey, the results of which are being compiled and reviewed. After the holidays, the Search Committee will be conducting a series of forums to further hear the hopes and dreams of the parishioners of Holy Trinity. As you continue to pray for the Search Committee, please pray also that those choosing the 5th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida on January 14, 2023 will also be guided by the Holy Spirit.

December 16, 2022 Update: Your Search Committee is grateful to all who responded to the Rector Search Survey. While it may have been a challenging activity, your input is critical in helping the committee identify priorities for a new rector as well as for the ongoing ministries of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Our hope is that the survey was so thought-provoking that you will participate in one of the forums the Search Committee will be conducting after the holidays. We also plan to have our Office of Transitional Ministry Profile posted on the Diocesan website shortly after our new Bishop is elected. From what we understand, Clergy seeking to make a move may be inclined to wait until the new Bishop is known. As always, we invite your continued prayers.

November 17, 2022 Update: The Search Committee has prepared a Parish Survey for mailing in early December.  It will also be accessible online.  The survey gives everyone in our parish the opportunity to contribute your thoughts and desires for Holy Trinity. After the holidays, we will be conducting focus groups to gather further input to guide us in finding the Rector whom God has chosen for Holy Trinity.

November 4, 2022 Update: The Search Committee continues to work on required projects prior to receiving profiles of potential candidates for Rector of Holy Trinity. Please continue to pray.

October 28, 2022 Update: Your Search Committee is energized following our meeting with Canon Holcombe. Energizing us also are the prayers and encouraging words you are offering. We are truly grateful.

Planning is currently underway for the development of a parish profile and a parish survey. Within the National Church is the Office of Transitional Ministry, a clearing house for clergy and churches in the search process. The Community Ministry Portfolio, developed by the OTM, is a document providing data that is entered into the national databank. Work on this has begun as well.

October 21, 2022 Update: To guide, direct and support parishes in the calling of a new Rector, the Diocese of Central Florida has produced a document that outlines the Vacancy and Search Procedures. On October 20, the Search Committee met with The Rev. Canon Scott T. Holcombe, Canon to the Ordinary for Congregational Development, to review this document and actively begin the next steps of the search process. Please continue to PRAY for God to bless and guide this process!
