CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES

The Nursery will be open for the little ones this Sunday during the 9:00am service.

Worship Bags for Children: Our worship bags have been refreshed with new twist crayons, note pads and short books for children to use during worship. Please remove any trash and return them after the service so they will be clean and available each week!

Children’s Chapel: Sundays during the 9:00am worship service. Children 8 & under are invited to follow the cross to chapel following the New Testament lesson. They return to the service at The Peace in time for the Eucharist.

Sunday School! Children aged 3 - grade 6 are invited to Sunday School in Pearson Hall following the 9:00am service.

Youth Sunday School: Sundays at 10:30am in Lewis Hall. Students in grades 7 – 12, join your friends for fellowship, prayer and to discuss the scripture readings from the service. We meet from 10:30 – 11:15 am each Sunday.

“Jesus Journey” Youth Bible Study: Sundays after Sunday School at 11:30am in Lewis Hall. Join your youth group friends for a deeper study of Matthew. We will have a light lunch/brunch after Youth Sunday School and then dig into God’s Word. Cost is $10/person which covers a personal copy of the Jesus Journey Bible, book of Matthew. The Vestry is working on final list of candidates to call to serve on the search committee along side Mike Crews and Chris Arter. Expectation is they’ll have the committee set by end of month. Please continue to PRAY for God to bless and guide this process!

Come to the Blessing of the Pets! Sunday, October 2 at 4:00pm in the St. Francis Garden. You and your pets are invited to come to Holy Trinity for a short and fun-filled celebration of the goodness of all God’s creatures. So, bring Fido and Fluffy, and please join us!

Sunday Forum: Soul Injury: Our first forum this year will be on October 16 following the 9:00am service in the parish hall. Our speaker will be Deacon Christine who will speak on Soul Injury. Soul Injuries are caused by unmourned loss/hurt, unforgiven guilt/shame, and a fear of helplessness and loss of control. These barriers gradually disconnect you from the energy of your deepest self, robbing you of the essence of your being.

Outdoor Movie Night: October 22: The Holy Trinity Youth Group invites you to an outdoor Halloween Movie Night on Saturday, October 22 at 7:00pm in front of the chapel. Admission is free and the youth group will be offering concessions as a fundraiser. The movie: Hocus Pocus!

Outdoor Worship Service and Church Picnic! Sunday, October 30. Worship at 9:30am on the school field, and the picnic will follow in the Cub Café at about 11:00am. The church provides entrees and beverages, and parishioners are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. AND KIDS! You get to enjoy Trunk-or-Treat after the picnic!

Mark your calendar for Stewardship Celebration Weekend: November 5 and 6. The 2023 Stewardship packets will be available for pick up at church (in the narthex) at all services on the weekends of October 15/16, and October 22/23, or from the office during the week. Any remaining packets will be mailed.

Tuesday Healing Prayer Service: Canon David Greenwood and Deacon Christine Croskey invite you to a weekly Healing Prayer Service every Tuesday at 9:00am on ZOOM. Email Deacon Christine or the church office for the ZOOM link.

GAB - G.ames A.nd B.ooks: Come “gab” with other women on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month in the Lewis Hall youth room at 7:00pm. On the 2nd Tuesday bring a game to share. Wednesday Healing Service with Eucharist in the Historic Chapel continues at 11:00am. It is a great service where you can “come boldly before the throne of God to receive mercy.”

Prayer Teams: Starting on Sunday, October 2 at the 9:00am service there will be a prayer team available during communion in the back of the church. They are there to pray for you and with you, for healing.

The St. Catherine’s Ladies Guild meets on Monday, October 10 at 10:00am in the parish hall. All ladies of the church are invited! Please bring fresh fruit or other items for Genesis Houses. Feel free to bring candy or other Halloween items, or household or toiletries items. Snacks will be served; please bring your own beverage. PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT: November 19! Mark your calendars now: Parents’ Night Out is hosting a Beach Bonfire Night on Saturday, November 19! There will be childcare in the Parish Hall from 6:00-10:00pm that will include free play time, games, pizza and a movie! Kids are encouraged to bring a pillow and blanket for movie time. Holy Trinity Historic Chapel Plates in both pink and blue are available for a donation of $50. They are available in the narthex and church office. Proceeds go to the “Front Door of Holy Trinity” project.

Newcomer Welcome Table! If you are new to the church, please stop by the Newcomer Welcome Table in the narthex to pick up your welcome bag. Want to help welcome people? We’re looking for people to help host the Welcome Table. The Celebratory Guild has a return mug basket located in the narthex for anyone wishing to recycle the mug in which their recent flower arrangement was delivered. No special trip is required, just place the mug in the bin next time you attend church services.

ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

“Words of Encouragement” will be offered by Fr. Dave this Wednesday at 10:00am on Facebook Live or watch later for “Words of Encouragement” through Scripture and prayer.

Fr. Dave’s Bible Study on 1 & 2 Peter and Jude - Thursdays at 11:00am, both in person in Lewis Hall and on ZOOM. Jesus said, “I will build the church on this Rock”. See how Peter carried on the mission. Study books will be $10. Email Fr. Dave or the church office for the Zoom link. 

Alpha and the Holy Spirit: Over the next few weeks our Tuesday evening Alpha group will cover six topics: ‘How Does God Guide Us?’, ‘Who is the Holy Spirit?’, ‘What Does the Holy Spirit Do?’, ‘How Can I Be Filled With the Holy Spirit?’, ‘How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?’ and ‘How Can I Resist Evil?’. This is a lot of life-changing information in a short period of time. Keep watching and please keep our participants and Alpha in your prayers. In the month of September, Feed the Hungry Bags need protein type snack bars, trail mix, individual packs of pretzels, Cheez-its and potato chips. Creation Photography to Feed the Hungry: In the narthex is a display of framed photos by HT parishioner, Patricia Oetting.
