Small Group Lenten Study:
THE CRUCIFIED LIFE
"The Crucified Life" is a small group Lenten study. This unique Lenten curriculum provides a space in which we can listen to Jesus' final words from the cross. As we listen, we understand and identify with His suffering in a way that challenges us, transforms us, and ultimately brings us hope. There are over 20 different groups that are meeting throughout Lent in homes at a variety of times and days. It's not too late to join a small group to take part in this study. Materials for "The Crucified Life" cost the church $20/person. Please make a contribution according to your ability. We want everyone to be able to participate regardless of your ability to pay for the materials.
As a part of the study, each week has a memory verse that will correspond with the Sunday sermons. Below are the memory verses:
SESSION ONE: FORGIVENESS (Feb. 22): Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13)
SESSION TWO: SALVATION (March 1): If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
SESSION THREE: RELATIONSHIP (March 8): So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. (Galatians 5:7)
SESSION FOUR: DISTRESS (March 15): Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. (John 4:14)
SESSION FIVE: ABANDONMENT (March 22): Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. (Psalm 86:6)
SESSION SIX: REUNION (March 29): But I trust in you, Lord; I say, "You are my God." (Psalm 31:14)
SESSION SEVEN: TRIUMPH (April 5): Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10)
